The KODAK Theatre Management System (TMS) provides a highly reliable point of central control for your cinema complex. The TMS is the heart of the KODAK Solution for digital cinema. This is the system that enables the exhibitor to receive and schedule content more effi ciently, to distribute Keys, schedules, playlists and content automatically and manage the business and its resources more effectively. It helps take redundancy out of cinema operations and helps the exhibitor take full advantage of the promise and potential of digital cinema. As an evolutionary software-based system, the KODAK Theatre Management System remains fl exible and adaptable to meet growing needs.
Through its wide area network connection, the TMS enables the cinema to receive, load, and store content arriving from satellite, hard drives, or from an on-site Network Attached Storage (NAS).
Its in-cinema connection to the site's ticketing/point of sale (POS) system and the multiplex's screens allows the TMS to migrate and manage content and Keys from multiple sources. It handles the distribution of all components of a presentation; the pre-show, trailers, snipes, and features to the correct screens, to play as scheduled.
Through in-booth connections, the KODAK TMS directs each screen's KODAK Content Player JMN3000 to automate a number of presentation functions, including the control of audio, masking, lighting, and the starting and stopping of projectors.

The system also generates and collects data such as content receipt and play, system performance, and even diagnostic information regarding potential problems. The "pulse" of key components is automatically monitored every five seconds.
