 KODAK Screen Management Server

The KODAK Screen Management Server is designed to receive, store, stage, and deliver a complete and seamless presentation – including pre-show, trailers, and feature – automatically and reliably. It can take full advantage of the capability, efficiency and power of the KODAK Theatre Management System. It also can be used effectively for standalone applications.

This versatile product plays MPEG-2 content MXF-Interop wrapped or non-wrapped; it also plays JPEG2000-compressed content in 2D or 3D. The KODAK Server automatically recognizes the compression format of the content and switches among formats – handling resizing, color space conversion, and frame rate conversion all automatically – and enabling seamless playback of 2D and 3D content within the playlist.

Playlist creation and management can be handled locally on the large, clear Graphical User Interface (GUI) panel, with intuitive controls. Or, when the Server is networked, playlist creation and management can be done on the KODAK Theatre Management System (TMS) — and playlists can be automatically downloaded remotely over the network. Pre-show playlists prepared by KODAK Digital Cinema Services can be received over the network via the TMS.

Network Connectivity

•  Operates as a standalone Screen Management Server
•  Interfaces with the KODAK Theatre Management System for generating and downloading show playlists, content scheduling and playback, as well as Key ingestion and use

DCI compliance

Standards compliance is a moving target. It is our intent to make the KODAK Screen Management Server conform to DCI specifications, but until SMPTE publishes the standards and independent agencies provide certification, no company or products can claim full compliance.

As those standards are written and independent certification is available, Kodak expects to make the software and hardware upgrades required to make the Server compliant with DCI standards and/or user expectations. Kodak has extensive experience in network solutions for digital cinema, working with a range of exhibitors, connecting to ticketing and automation systems on thousands of screens, and delivering flawless presentations, reliably. As you build your business for your digital future, go with a company you can depend on today – and tomorrow. Go with Kodak.
