1. ACE ("les Ateliers du Cinema Européen - European Independent Producers Association)

European Independent Producers Association

"ACE-Kodak Networking Breakfasts" over a 5-day period (16th to 20th May - 9.00 to 10.30 am) at L'appartement Kodak.

Kodak has been an official sponsor of ACE for the last six years and is renewing its support in Cannes.

ACE members will be invited to meet with other producers and international industry professionals to discuss their projects in active development.

ACE combines three main types of activities dedicated to its members: continued training (via workshops and seminars), counseling on development (on the rewriting and financing of each ACE producer's project) and networking activities amongst producers and other industry professionals. Covering more than 20 festivals throughout the year (including Rotterdam, Berlin, Cannes, San Sebastian, Toronto…), ACE aims to provide its producers with a unique platform where they can exchange information and experiences, and find potential partners for their projects.

2. The Short Film Corner

The Short Film Corner

L'appartement Kodak welcomes the short film corner for two breakfasts (15th and 21th - 9.00 to 10.30 am).

Launched in 2004, the Short Film Corner is the Cannes Festival's ten days long short film market and meeting place for all innovative and creative short filmmakers, opened to all the international professionals accredited with the Festival de Cannes and the Marché du Film. In 2007, there were nearly 3000 participants from almost 80 countries, 2000 registered short films, and more than 22000 film viewings by the attending professionals. Among these professionals, more than 40 short film buyers from major international companies were present at the Short Film Corner, making it an ideal spot to sell shorts for multi-supports diffusion (TV, Internet, Cinema, DVD…).

3. Europa Distribution

Europa Distribution was created in March 2006 at the initiative of French independent distributors. Its aim is to gather the independent European distributors who all share the same worries, in order to push on common problems at the European level.

4. NPA (New Producers Alliance)

New Producers Alliance

NPA will organize a cocktail at L'appartement Kodak Sunday 17th from 6pm to 8pm.

Established in 1993, the NPA is an english national membership organization and registered charity dedicated to providing essential training and networking opportunities for filmmakers. Led by industry professionals, the NPA assists independent filmmakers in developing their skills, contacts and creativity in line with working industry practices.

5. Straight 8

At this occasion, L'appartement will be transformed by the team into a cinema space with a 2.5mx2.5m screen.

This event will take place Tuesday 19th from 10pm to 12pm.

For the sixth year in a row, Straight 8 will put on a special screening at l'Appartement Kodak.

10-12 films each made on a single cartridge of super 8 without any editing or post-production will be projected off super 8 film. The filmmakers themselves will be seeing the films for the first time at the event.

6. Women in film

WFTV will organize a cocktail at l'Appartement Kodak Tuesday 19th from 6pm to 8pm.

Founded in 1990, WFTV is a not-for-profit membership organization which works to protect and enhance the interests, status and diversity of women working at all levels in the industry and celebrate their achievement.

7. La semaine de la critique

As Kodak is convinced that short films have an important role to play in Cannes as a first step towards feature filmmaking, it supports the International Critics' Week with "Découverte Kodak Prize". This prize awards the Best Short Film of the Critics' Week selection. .
