For 22 years, Kodak has sponsored the Prix de la Caméra d'Or (Golden Camera Prize), which rewards the best new full-length film shown in Cannes, out of all categories. with Kodak motion picture products valued at 50,000 euros to the winning filmmaker.

In 2009, Kodak was honored to present the Camera d'Or to Warwick Thornton. He won the prize for best first feature film with Samson & Delilah.
After graduating, Warwick Thornton got bored of sitting around waiting for the phone to ring with work offers, so he decided to write some of his own ideas. He worked as DOP and director for his film shot on Kodak VISION3 500T Color Negative Film 5219. He works with the same producer and production manager from the very beginning.
In the feature, Samson, a cheeky 15-year-old boy, and Delilah live in an isolated Aboriginal community in the Central Australian desert. The two teenagers soon discover that life outside the community can be cruel…
As the main sponsor of the Camera d'Or award, Kodak is proud to give 50,000 Euros in Kodak film stock. No doubt that will help the talented director to shoot his next project!
